During his consulting career, Butch Price has assisted clients achieve superior supply chain performance resulting in lower costs, higher productivity, shorter lead-times and more efficient inventory performance. His primary areas of focus include product development, sourcing and manufacturing. Prior to becoming an Associate of The Context Group, he was Vice President for Kurt Salmon Associates serving in a variety of leadership roles including Director of the Far East, Regional Director for the Northeast and Southeast regions for the Consumer Products practice.
His career includes significant international experience including five years as Asia Managing Director, assisting U.S. and Asian companies improve sourcing and manufacturing operations. He was based in Hong Kong, and served clients in Korea, Taiwan, Japan, China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. He also spent one year in Brazil setting up manufacturing operations in a new facility.
He has conducted supply chain projects in over 25 countries, including Asia, Latin America, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Russia.
During his two tours in Asia, he worked with buying offices, manufacturers and retailers to improve the procurement and flow of product from Asia to the U.S. and Europe.
Mr. Price received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has served on the Executive Board of the Technical Advisory Committee, American Apparel and Footwear Association; Executive Board of the Textile Committee, Hong Kong American Chamber of Commerce; and the Advisory Board of the Industrial and Systems School of Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology.
